How we check facts
Travel facts change. We record where each fact came from and when we last checked it, and we show that date next to the fact.
What we publish
Each landmark guide has a fact card (opening hours, tickets, dress code, photography rules, how to get there), an in-depth explanation of the place, and answers to common questions.
Where facts come from
- The landmark's official website and official social media pages.
- National and provincial tourism authorities.
- The UNESCO World Heritage List for heritage status and year of inscription.
- Wikidata for coordinates and names in other languages.
- Direct contact with the landmark by phone, messaging app or email.
- Visits in person, where we say so.
We do not copy reviews or listings from booking platforms or map services. For history, we use published scholarship and official sources, and list them at the end of each guide.
How each fact is labelled
Next to each fact we show the date of the last check and how it was checked: official website, official social page, phone or messaging app, email, or visit in person. If we could not confirm a fact, we leave the field empty.
How often we review
- Opening hours and ticket prices: every 6 months.
- Transport information: every 12 months.
- Business contact details: every 12 months.
When a fact passes its review date, we mark it as due for a recheck or hide it until it is confirmed.
Place names and addresses
We use the common English name of each place and give the Vietnamese name alongside it. Addresses follow Vietnam's current provinces, as reorganised in July 2025.
